A wedding as a wedding gift

As a wedding present to our daughter, we decided to foot the bill for the actual ceremony and festivities. (The groom’s family is taking care of the honeymoon expenses.) This meant that I had a bigger hand in dealing with a lot of the planning – especially the planning that isn’t as fun. I had lots of meetings with the wedding planner to discuss expenses and found my schedule booked full with appointments but I was able to manage it better because I’m retired.

One of the appointments that I was especially excited about was the wedding cake one. We met with the wedding planner and the chef who would make the cake. As we tried samples and he explained the icing flavors and ingredients I had a tough time hearing him because I’m a little hard of hearing and he had a thick accent. I had to ask him to repeat things a few times so I could understand them.

After that I felt like I had embarrassed my daughter and went to miracle ear Portland and because my two sisters told me that they both got hearing aids in pocatello and hearing aids in nj.

But we’re not even close to being done with wedding preparations. I thought this would be a lot of fun – and it is – it’s just a whole lot of work too.
